Janmostava
Janmostava, the birthday of Shri Shri Thakura, coincides with the Hindu festival Rakshya Bandhan. On this day of the lunar calendar, Shri Shri Thakura was born to a virtuous brahmin couple at Kutabpur in Nadia district, now in Bangladesh. Nilachala Saraswata Sangha, Puri, along with its branches, Asana Mandiras, and devotees at home, celebrates this auspicious day as a grand festival.
Sangha Annual Day
America Saraswata Pathachakra became America Saraswata Sangha after approval from Nilachala Saraswata Sangha President and Parichalak Shri Shyam Sunder Dash in September 2003. The first session of the Sangha was held on Pousa Purnima, January 7, 2004. Pousa Purnima is celebrated as the Annual Day of America Saraswata Sangha.
Akshaya Trutiya
Akshaya Trutiya is the combination of two words Akshaya and Trutiya. Akshaya means imperishable and never diminishes. Trutiya means the third day of the waxing moon in the lunar calendar.
Raasa Purnima
Raasa-Utsava has been derived from the Raasa leela of ShriKrishna and is celebrated by Nilachala Saraswata Sangha, Puri. Raasa Purnima, associated with the Raasa leela, falls in the autumn season before Kartik observances.
